In a word… yes.

If your buying on eBay, make sure you get the correct model. Current
part no. is LXF4160CA (old part no. was DBC 10432). I believe the later
CD-Changer for the X308 (part no. LNC4160AA) may not work on the X300.
Perhaps somebody else can confirm/deny this.

Another solution is to buy an Alpine unit that has a type number
beginning with CHM (e.g., CHM S620). However, you will also need an
electronic adapter in order that the head unit can talk to the changer,
which adds another 50 UKP to the total price. Also, I believe there are
Alpine changers that can also play CDs with MP3. Check the archives for
further info.

In reply to a message from Marko1 sent Wed 1 Feb 2006:

pull back the carpet/trim from inside the boot (trunk) from the top
left to middle and you’ll find a lead there with a DIN plug on the
end, this plugs into your changer which you mount, via brackets, in
the top of the boot (trunk), lean in and look up, you’ll see
threaded holes.
As the other reply says, be sure you get the right model and that
it includes the casette (which holds the cd’s).
I got mine from ebay, around 90 I think.–
