Can anyone shed light on why the local O’Reilly Auto store’s computer says “Do Not Re-surface”. They would not do mine.
In the past I have just replaced rotors when changing brakes but as my Brembos have a lot of highway miles on them I thought I would consider re-surfacing them . They still read 28mm thick. I have some pulsating in the front. I use Brembos and Akebonos on this car and my XJ40.
Because of the material on the rotors used for faster cooling, DO NOT CUT THE ROTORS…
They are so cheap and shaving a hair throws out the entire balance, ITS NOT WORTH IT THEY WILL WARP.

That was my overall impression. Hadn’t turned a rotor since my poor school days. But I saw a number of post from people who said they routinely turned them (at O’Reilly) when they changed pads that it intrigued me.
I don’t go cheap on my cars so I ordered Brembos again.
