[x300] Administrative Request

Michael Brown,

Please use your administrator powers to return this list to the technical
discussion that it was meant to be. Please do not allow some people to use
it as a forum for wrongly arguing Constitutional points of law. I value
this list for the information it brings me about my hobby. I hope that you
will start editing it accordingly.

Thanks,

Louis

I think Louis’s request is appropriate. I also think it appropriate that
people have a limited opportunity to digest and react to what we have read
today.

So, threads involving what the policies of Jag-lovers should or should not
be are closed effective 12:01 am Greenwich Mean Time on Saturday 10 August
2002. If I count correctly, that’s about 4-1/2 hours from now.

Whose constitution? Jaguars are made in Britain and are subject to

Why not suggest instead that this discussion be took to the policy list? Maybe when the time has run out you could just forward e-mails in this thread to the policy list. That would be more appropriate than just declaring it a dead subject. Since it comes up in some form annually it
is obviously not a dead subject and should be allowed, in the appropriate forum, to be discussed until nobody is interested in it anymore or a consensus is reached.

Michael,

In the new, touchy-feely, everything in the garden’s lovely X300 list,
would it be apposite to ask precisely how list admins are appointed? I
don’t recall seeing any democracy involved. This must surely place the
lists at risk of law suits from disaffected members?

How about a democratic vote on:

A) ending this topic immediately and
B) unsubscribing the next “disaffected member” who threatens the list

I vote YES for both.

Not that anybody should threaten the list in any manner, you obviously
have not noticed that this is not a democracy.

get appointed. Do you have to work in Ford’s PR department?

Hey guys and gals,

I think this is getting childish and is turning into “Clash of the Egos”

Why continue responding to someone you disagree with?

Why continue to disagree with the list admins?

I’m glad I don’t deal with some of you in real life if you conduct
yourselves like this behind the privacy of a home computer.

Would you be acting this way if all of us were face to face?

Pascal, etc, what value does yours or Andrew’s comments have for the rest of
us?

For what it’s worth, some of you that were highly regarded here are starting
to lose their shine.

List administrators simply need to be “slow to anger and great in power.”

Michael is a much better list administrator than I would be. I would have
kicked in the power part about 5 emails ago.
