[x300] Beeping after stall

On the way to work morning at a slow pace of about 35 miles-per-
hour, I experienced what seemad like a small bump, or maybe it was
thud sound, then all the electrical system went out: at least the
engine and the radio.

But immediately I heard an urgent-paced beep-beep-beep-beep coming
from the darkened dash. The beeping lasted for about thirty seconds
as I coasted.

Being well into the fifth or sixth year of a 72-Month battery and
having been a forum reader I immediately suspected the battery, but
I have never come across a mention of this beeping sound after a
stall.

It’s a normally aspirated AJ16 1995 XJ6 sold in Memphis, TN US.
Also, the hazard flashers, tail lights and trunk worked okay, but
no radio and no cranking.

It’s at the shop, now, so I haven’t checked any codes.

Does anyone know about the beeping, or the phrase to search for on
a situation like this?

One more thing, do I need 1000 cranking amps or 800-ish… I’ve
seen 800 CCA on the forum.
Thank you,–

The beeping noise you describe sounds like the noise the car makes
to tell you that the gear stick isn’t in park when you turn the
engine off.

It’s nothing to worry about.–

I concur.
My jaguar is the first automatic I’ve owned and when I stalled it I
was most confused by the starter not responding to turning the key
and the manic beeping. took me a moment to figure out that it was
the gearbox needing to be in P, or at least not in D as it was.–
