[x300] Center Brake Light

One of the bulbs in the centre brake light bar on my 97 VDP is
burnt out and I have not been able to find anything in the archives
on how to replace it. Looking for an exploded view on the JDHT web
site was no help. I am reluctant to try popping the cover off
because Jag is notorious for having hidden catches and requiring
the right tool, inserted the right way, while standing on your head
singing Rule Britania. Any help would be appreciated.–

In reply to a message from JGL sent Sat 5 Mar 2011:

It’s one of the few things that is actually very simple.
Two black tabs on the bottom of the cover. Push them both
in gently and then slide the cover straight back towards
you. Each bulb is removed with a simple quarter turn.

Now, if the car has been baking in the sun for enough years,
the glue holding it to the window may have become brittle
enough that it will let go anyway. If it does, just
reattach it with an appropriate adhesive.–
