[x300] Daimler nightmare!

Posted threads after new year re Daimler not starting> Still no
car 2 months down line. 1998 Daimler sovereign 4.00 v8. My mechanic
took car to dealers for diagnosis. Car would not start, not turn
over after lying for a week while we holidayed. Dealer says there
is no earth and no feed to one of the fuse boxes in engine comp.
passenger side. Mechanic is talking about rewiring certain wires. I
am thinking there must be somewhere where connection is ( corroded,
broken or other) has anyone had similar problem and where to look.
Surely there must be a way of following wires etc to find fault.
Driving me up wall. Running about in old 3.2 x300 with no tax disc,
dodgy power steering and now wont start since wife parked in a
puddle…Am Jaguar through and through but patience is being truly
tested. All welcome. Jim–

How do you mean, Jim? The + and - wires are removed? Or
corroded off? Or absent entirely? I’m not sure about the V8
but on the AJ16 a corroded earth connection on the firewall
is known to occur.–

thanks for replying Andy. The car was running fine before we went
on holiday and I am pretty sure it hasnt been tampered with. What
the dealer said was that one of the fuseboxes was not getting a +
feed and also no earth. I am assuming that there is a break
somewhere along the line ( not wires missing as such). I am not
very technical so forgive me if my description is inadequate. I
have checked all the earths I can see visually and they look ok so
maybe firewall somewhere could be problem. Where I live (bonny
Scotland) also it is cold and damp and with the car lying outside
for a week in december could have some bearing on situation.–
