[x300] Door handle gaskets

Does anyone know of a source for the rubber gaskets that sit between the
exterior door handle bezel and the exterior door panel on an X300? My
1996 Vanden Plas is coming back from the paint shop this week (after
four weeks of loving attention to fix a clear coat problem) and two of
my gaskets need to be replaced.

Jaguar will not sell them alone and wants almost $400 US for the entire
handle assembly (which includes the gasket). Used handle assemblies
available for around $150. I would prefer to only pay the $5 that the
gasket is worth. Any ideas appreciated. I really would hate to have it
reassembled with the old gaskets.

Do they fit upside down? Can you clean them with solvent before re-
fitting? Can you trim something similar from rubber sheet using
yours as a pattern?–

Try www.motorcarsltd.com

I found a gasket for 5$ on their website. If you call them, they
can get you what you need…–
