I just installed new 22mm bushings CCC2806 on swmbo’s 97 vdp which came from the factory with a 7/8" (22mm) sportspack sway bar. These are the aftermarket rubber bushings that all vendors seem to sell. They seem a little flimsy to me.
When I installed them I expected to see a gap which would close down with torque. There was no gap. I lubricated with silicone spray and tightened. I can definitely feel play when I push/pull on the bar aggressively. Of course this is with no load. Caliper suggests bar is 21.5mm ish at the bushings (paint worn of course).
