I have plumbed in a fuel pressure gauge to make certain that
all was well in that area. It is quite rigid and secure in
the pipework.
With all the electrical difficulties eventually sorted, I
realise the pressure gauge is still in situ.
It’s a 60psi gauge running at 40psi or thereabouts so
shouldn’t be under too much stress.
Conventional wisdom is to remove it and put a bung in the
Tee-piece; but am I likely to have long-term problems
leaving it in circuit - rather like the oil fashioned oil
pressure gauges which never seemed to give any trouble?
Anyone else have a permanent fuel pressure gauge ?

Jim,
Glad your problems have been fixed, until you manage to
disturb some other dormant issue! ‘‘If it ain’t broke do
absolutely nothing’’.
All the Radars I ever built were festooned with analogue
meters and gauges which caused no problems, this will only
give you something else to fret about.
Constant checking will probably knacker the bonnet release
mechanism, so I’d recommend implementing Jeff’s mod or a
variation of it ASAP!–

If it makes ya feel good Jim, go for it. At least you can’t fill the cabin
with oil like a broken mechanical oil pressure gauge can. Oh, umm, fuel on
the engine? Hmm, well hopefully you’ll smell it before it’s a problem.

I’ve installed a ‘‘T’’ with a schrader valve in all three of
my Jags. Along with a solid brass cap for the valve, it’s
very secure when a gauge is not installed and darn handy to
have when there’s a problem.–

Nope, just a ‘‘nosey bstrd’’ of a Project Manger used to
checking everything out, else it often never happened!–

Well spotted Neil - do you follow me round making
corrections to my errors ? :-))

Jim,
No, just giving Rob the detail on the item you presumably
had purchased, the Header on that page listed some of the
current items on sale.–
