In reply to a message from Jack Hollibaugh sent Wed 14 Aug 2013:

I might cut the brake lines and leave the car on the street.–

Maybe a hidden switch to disarm the fuel pump relay would be useful–

I’ve found a place that sells the correct key blanks, including the
transponder, for 7.50 delivered. A local locksmith is going to
cut and programme for about 40.

Until the new keys are ready, the car is in a corner of my drive
and blocked in by 2 others. In addition, I have removed the
battery. Of course, when the new keys are programmed, the old ones
will be deactivated. They would still open the door and boot/trunk
but, I’ve removed anything of value, most importantly, my hair
brush:-)> And, if they put the key in the ignition it won’t be
recognised and the alarm will activate.–

But don’t the crooks have the other set of keys… and don’t they know where
you live? Can’t they just come round and pick the car up… sometime?

It gets worse.

Youngest son and his gf were round for dinner last night. When he
left his car was gone from our drive. We’d all forgotten that he
leaves a spare set of keys here at our place and the thieves must
have taken them too. They’ve probably been watching our place,
waiting for the car to turn up.–

B’stards! If I’d any time off left I’d come over for a
visit and leave the x300 parked in front and pray they’d try
and steal her - wonder how they’d react to a slightly peeved
ex-NI cop with a big stick, sore head and nasty attitude (on
a good day - if it were a bad day, i.e. sun didn’t shine,
didn’t win lottery etc., things could get ugly.)

Gary, their day will come, and they’d better hope they end
up (somehow) in heaven, as me and the boss of the
alternative have an understanding and hell will be a bad
place to be for them - where’s me pitchfork sharpener,
blowtorch and skinning knives?
