[x300] My no start issue is resolved

It was not the engine flooding after all, it was the fuel
pump failing as I suspected after I shot starter fluid in
the cylinders and it would fire up. However after
installing the new fuel pump, it was misfiring. I hooked up
my scanner and found it to be #3 cylinder misfire. I
removed that coil and swapped it out with #4’s coil and then
that cylinder would fire and #4 wouldn’t. I inspected the
coil pack and found it had hair line cracks in it. So I
have ordered a replacement which should be here in a few
days. At least I got it running again…and soon to be
running well again. Now I can get back to my normal mods
and repaint when my new front half spoiler gets in (which
was stolen from the car when we shipped it moving from
Hawaii to St. Louis.

Fun…–

In reply to a message from VIP Emporium sent Fri 10 Apr 2009:

Replacement coil pack came in. It was an aftermarket model
so I had to trim the pin a little to match the factory
length inside the rubber ‘‘boot’’. I then filed it down flat
and put it back together. Installed it and cranked it up.
Worked like a charm. Turned it off, ran my scanner and
cleared codes. Started it back up…no more CEL and engine
is happy.–
