hello all!!,
this is my first time posting…i have a 84 xj6 I have been
working on with THIS sites help…!!! I could have never done
it without your guys information, and have started answering
questions I know out there in cyberspace…ok where was i…
so I got a 96 vdp 160.000 miles just changed alternator,now
i have too keep everything running’‘lights ac, ect’’ just to
keep the voltage under 17v, any help on that would be great.
so the car was shifting hard and idiot light was going on
from time to time,so I got a transmission filter kit and
installed it, still seems to be down shifting hard?
but my big problem is the keys and door lock, should I be
able to lock the car with the key in the door?should it turn
it just go’s in, no turning. oh I have no manuals,so I have
know idea, the FOB I got with the car wont work when I try
to program car to see it…’‘the 5 valet thing’'looks like the
last owner hated the car…he had know idea what he had…
any help would be great, thanks again–

- you have a bad voltage integral regulator or the alternator to
regultor jumper is missing. - If you changed the filter and it still shifts hard, then it
wasn’t the filter causing the hard shift. - And this is only a suggestion- it sure ain’t my place to tell
you or anyone else how to post. The people on this forum are not
generally members of the text message culture. While a lot of
tolerance is given for non native English speakers, if you compose
your questions, with punctuation and somewhat normal written usage
