[x300] Re: XK8 styling roots, pre or post-Ford? (was X350: Ford's Continuing Movement of Jaguar Away from EmotionalAppeal and Toward Practicality)

dont’ remember the exact details,… It took a while to get the project
approved by Ford at a time where Jaguar was really on the brink.

what’s sure, is that the company would have never been able to afford the
development of the XK8 without Ford…

there is a very detailed book on the XK8, I have it at home, I’ll look up
the answer

Subject: XK8 styling roots, pre or post-Ford? (was X350: Ford’s Continuing
Movement of Jaguar Away from EmotionalAppeal and Toward Practicality)

The XK8 was first designed in 1989 and then shelved, right before or after
the Ford purchase I don’t know, but I think its a pure Jaguar product from
a concept to initial styling. How much of that style remained in the final
design in '95/'96? I dunno.

Anyone know the correct answer?
