My X300 seat belts are a light champagne colour and have become grubby over
the years. Mechanics never seem to wash their hands before tugging at
them - and neither do my sons. Cleaning never seems have much effect.
So, I took the plunge, removed the belts, and have had all five refurbished.
I sent them to Stephen Armstrong in Carlisle, (carseatbelts@hotmail.com),
and am delighted with the result. He has a full range of Jaguar belt colours
and does the job within 24 hrs. He also inspects the mechanisms and greases
and adjusts if required. The total cost was 48 plus postage there and
back, which I think is great value. He is fully recommended to those of you
in GB who fancy a seatbelt spruce-up.
Excellent info - thanks Stephen. Mine are exacly the same.

Gav

Does anyone know of a similar service in the United States?

In reply to a message from The Marlett’s sent Mon 4 Nov 2002:
If seat belts are fraying, wearing, etc which might cause them to
not function as intended, they are under a warranty. I think
something around the neighborhood of 10 years and its a Federally
mandated warranty regardless of where you live.
I’d like to have mine redyed as they are fading…
