I have a 1995 xj12 v12 I was driving it and the trans lost all
gears I need to know what years I can inter change from is the xjs
the same or where can I get a used one if need be or parts im goin
to take it out the car today and see whats broken in it. I took the
pan off and there was metal in the bottom 
i also had 2 and 3 for a day after losing D and R but now have no
gears at all–

Nick,
You have a GM 4l80e gearbox. You can take the car to any GM
gearbox shop.
There should be loads of info in the archives, if you do a search.
Alternatively, do a google search and you should get 000’s of hits.–
