Hi all, I have a 1996 xj6 executive and have been told by my local
Jag dealer that it is one of only 1500 made. The reason being, it
needed 2 new back silencers and apparantly they both have catalytic
converters in them, and this model was intended mainly for the
American market. Does any one know if there was a limited edition
xj6 executive, or have any further info on this model.Many thanks,

It wasn’t for the US market as I don’t believe executives were
imported, at least not with that designation. Also the rear
silencers/mufflers wouldn’t have catalytic converters in them.

To be honest, I never heard anything like that. There is some
special editions, but not in Executive.

go aftermarket for those anyway…did they mean cats or lamdas?
If the Exec was a limited edition they built plenty of them, I see
them reguarly…it’s basically between a Sport and a Sovereign, a
bit more chrome than a Sport, not terribly high spec interior
unless you went for the options…in which case you might as well
have bought a Sovereign.–
