[x300] X300 Rear Bumper Support Brackets

Does anyone know where I can purchase the rear bumper support
brackets that are mounted on the quarter panels next to the wheel
arches (where the rubber guide blocks mount on to).
Mines have corroded away.
Jaguar want to sell me new quarter panels.
Alternatively, does anyone have the dimensions, so that I can have
them made?

Thanks,
William–

He is talking about the welded-on brackets that sit below the side
of each rear wing where the long side of the bumper slides over.
These catch all the dirt and salt from the back wheels (even with
Jaguar mudflaps). They will eventually corrode on all cars used
regularly in wet weather, because they are simply folded metal with
lots of sharp edges that cannot hold a good paint thickness and
therefore chips and rust will start at some point. Because they are
one part with the wing, being spot-welded on, Jaguar can only sell
the single panel complete with welded-on bracket.

The dimensions are not that critical provided there are some folds
to give it stiffness and it can be bolted/rivetted or welded back
onto sound metal. It is just a location backet for the side
attachment of the bumper, so if the bumper with the piece is held
in place, the bracket can be positioned so any hole lines up in the
right place, or it can be drilled after it is fitted. It is all
invisible anyway, so it doesn’t have to look too pretty. Just be
usre to use plenty of rustproofer and try to avoid damaging the
visible paint above the bumper line at the side.
