[x300] X308 name of part on cooling system please

Hi all, been having a prob with loss of coolant and have just
noticed a pin prick type leak from, ah, that’s what I need to know!
Centre front between hoses with a black knob with a hexdrive
central hole (torque 9nm) Will it be ok to seal it or is it some
kind of pressure release fingummy

Could be Thermostat housing Cap/Cover.–

That part is known to deteriorate ands leak. An aluminum
replaceent is available from several sources. I sprayed mine black
so it would look better. The boltas holding it in are difficult to
remove. I made a couple of custom crows foot wrenches to get mine
off. (The manual says remove the intake manifold).

I believe the best method, by far, is to break the plastic one off,
allowing access to the bolts, then insall the new one with socket
head cap screws, using a ball end driver.–

a bit of UHU filler. Job done!! (fingers crossed)–
