Hello to manual gearbox users with a tinkling rattle coming from under gear selectors due to worn out little black bushes FRC7418J. The Getrag 290 on my XJR seems to use 8 of these at over 6 pounds each from Jaguar. They look like big black rubber tap washers. Pattern parts price about 3.5 pounds. No idea of material type. Anyone had a need to silence their gear selector and replaced these…guess gives a more damped rather than metal-on-metal gear change experience? Apparently 2 of 8 are easy to change, other 6 hard to get at.
