[x300] XJR Silverstone

I recently won a boot badge on ebay that I am having difficulty
finding any reference to. White in colour with a chrome surround it
looks like nothing less than a genuine part. It certainly matches
well with the white JAGUAR badge from the XJR 100. Of course if it
is genuine it could be from an X300, as it is it certainly fits my
X308. Of course I scrutinised the badge and it has all the correct
moulding marks on the reverse exactly like my original badge. I
have tried to find information on this Limited Edition model but so
far have come up with a complete blank. Therefore I turn to you,
the great knowledge base out there in the big wide world. I will be
interested to hear your thoughts on this subject. In the meantime
as a newcomer to this website I will post some pictures of my car
as soon as I can. Many thanks. Chris.–

Hi Chris

The car was a limited edition XK not an XJ. If you scroll down the
page a bit you can find details here:-

Chris,

The Silverstone was in fact a limited edition from about 2000 if memory
serve. It was a silver XKR convertible produced in limited numbers for
the US market. Not certain if they were available in Europe or
elsewhere. It had the, at the time, monster 20" Detroit wheels with
high performance rubber and a couple of “signature” features.

As per the link given earlier:-

‘‘Production wise, Jaguar originally announced a limited run of 50
convertible and 50 coupes for the home market in march 2000. Later
on, another series of 200 ( 175 convertible and 25 coupe ) was
announced for the US market and started arriving at dealership in
October 2000.’’

I believe Tony Bailey who looks after the brochure pages on J-L has
or had one.–

I was bidding on that item (uk ebay site number 4610829211) too but
thought 60+ was a bit dear - well done though.

I had a good search through but found no reference to the xjr
silverstone only the xkr and decided to give up on it and put it
down as a scam. - Can anyone provide any background on this
particular variant of the XJ?–

It’s simply a FAKE badge. There is no such vehicle released from Jaguar
Motorcars.

Wow. It’s a long time since I’ve been here and just stumbled across this post.
This is the car the badge was made for. I guess they had to make a few to be worthwhile?
I managed to buy another soon after as well.

Yes they did do an XJR-100

I have one
