X300 XJR versus any SWB X308?

I had a compressor rod break when working on a Lotus “Chapman” strut. Near death experience.

Here’s a chart I ran across in my search for info:

So from that chart it would appear mine is on the lower side of the chart being ROW

I don’t believe the XJR100 had any suspension changes. (unless the NA Market was different)

Fitting ROW springs would seam the only sensible option.

It’s no fun changing the fronts! special tooling required

This would work.

Yeap that’s the sort of thing you need.
Carefull not to damage the thread while using.

I guess NAS means North American “Sector”/“Sales”/Segment"? There is an aftermarket supplier, but a factory ROW front pair would be ideal for my druthers. Wonder if they changed the shocks in any way… Thanks for the photos of the special tool.

The NAS cars are higher due to bumper height requirements. Ummm…I think.

But the above referenced charts allows a full 15mm ‘build variance’…which itself gobbles up most of the difference between NAS and ROW specs. So, if ROW springs were used to replace NAS springs, would a lower ride height be positively ensured?

Some research here might reveal an answer:

I know the XJR/6 was built with 2 or 3 different shock absorber variations depending on market. Whether the difference were subtle or significant, I don’t know

In the UK (and europe I guess), the XJR’s had activate shocks.
These are very expensive.
There is an electrical connector in the top of them.

There are 3 accelereometers and a computer.
The idea is to keep the cars ride soft, until it detects it is being pushed and then it firms up.

Not easy to retrofit, before you get any idea’s!

Personally I quite like the ride of the sport, which is always firm.
