I recently visited the salvage yard intending to grab a set of X308 headlights for my X300 (they turned out to be overpriced and 2 were missing so I skipped it) so instead I nipped the Augat 1.6 6 way connectors so I could make a pigtail adapter for a future swap with the X308 side short headlight harness.
As those who’ve done this know (and perhaps useful to those working on X308’s as well) they change the connectors between the X300 and X308 and the X308 uses these mysterious “Augat 1.6” connectors which are a dead end no matter how much “Google Foo” you have.
I think I have them identified with help from the FB Automotive Motorsports Wiring Groups. There were a string of clues to get here starting with someone suggesting the TE Connectivity part numbers (1-1437709-2 & 1-14377095-5) for the pins (which he recognized).
Someone else noted they’d seen those connectors on 90s & 2000’s Fords. Once I found the Ford Equivalent pin part numbers I was able to work that into a Ford document about “Micropin 1.6” connectors (which weren’t right, but used the right pins" and then to TE documents that did include housing numbers which via PDF and pictures DO appear to match the Augat 1.6 connectors (at least the 6 way system used for the headlights). So pics below and the string of links + relevant PDFs.
If I’m right it “might” be possible to simply buy the housings via Mouser etc & make one’s own pigtails (or replace connectors on an X308 as needed) without having to to Junkyarding.

Presumably all these PNs would yield PDFs for their respective connector housigns.
