[xj] 1973 Series 1 XJ6: heater fan motors run all thetime

In reply to a message from Jeff Warner sent Mon 26 Oct 2009:

Jeff:

Posting your car model and year as part of your signature is
helpful.

My 1971 car has all the fan resistors on the firewall with one HS
fan relay unde the dash cover.

My 1972 car has the small PCB with the resistors on the RH top side
of the evaporator, inside the car. It is barely visible through the
crack of the fuse door.

Jag did not think we ‘‘needed’’ to know the location of things like
the PCB, the bullet connectors shown in the wiring diagrams etc.–
The original message included these comments:

I’ll be next be investigating the heater fan resistor unit the parts book indicate is in the car… as soon as I can actually find it.
Buried somewhere behind the dash inside the interior of the car?.. I hope not
