[xj] AC/Heat Microswitches for Series 2 XJ

Hello All:

The four microswitches for the Series 2 AC/Heat controls are
getting very hard to find. I was wondering if someone has
figured out either the Burgess part numbers for these or has
found correct replacements?

Thanks you in advance!

It’s been some time since I really looked at those switches
specifically. Are they particularly unique?

In the past when I’ve needed to replace other Burgess
switches I’ve just googled ‘‘Snap action micro switch’’ and
have always been able to find a match…even if it didn’t
say ‘‘Burgess’’.

Cheers

They are a standard industrial product made by a number of companies.
Cherry, Omron and Honeywell among others.

The proper micro switch is from McMaster Carr, #7658k11, just remove the lever. Notice on the previous pic of switch, the holes are in the wrong spots. Works a treat.

Robert,

Interesting. What years have you used the McMaster Carr switch on?

This appears quite a different configuration than what is used in my Delanair MKII.

Gary;
My Jag is a 1988 XJ40 VDP, 3.6. I notice that there are indeed 2 different hole layouts on the switches, good to know.

Joebob

That explains a lot…‘88’ would be fitted with the Delanair MKIII. You are right…that’s good to know.
