[xj] AC-tubings

On my XJ6 1986 I updated the medium to R134, 2 years ago. Now the
system is empty again. (I should have replaced the gasket in the
front of the compressor then as well, but I didn’t as no leakege
were found. The gasket is still in the drawer.)
However, somebody said that if you update to the medium R134 you
should replace all rubber-tubings as well, as the R134 will go
right through OLD rubber. (24 years now)
(This was told by a garage who are doing jobs with AC.)
Is this thru? Have anyone else heard of this?

Rumour so has it, Eddie - but it is argued…

Age in itself is reasin enough, or the leak-down may have other causes.
In any case; before refill a leak test is integral to the desiccation of
the system by vacuum. And whatever the leaks; they must be remedied
before refill…
