[xj] Classic Jaguar Photos

I nominate the following as classic Jaguar photo’s:

Peter Crespin’s Willie the Leaper

Bill deCreeft’s Jaguar in the snow at sun up or sundow

Dietrich’s Talisman silver on the beach.

All three are a part of my Jaguar lore collection now!!

Thank you Carl…
I am sure more favorites wiil be mentioned; but obviously I am also
pleased with that picture because it has a nice nmood, but also
because it says something about Jaguars under less than perfect
conditions.
Especially when it was a Drive-home-a-new-purchase/shakedown cruise
from Washinton through California and Arizona and up the Alaska
Highway through Canada in winter with a fresh overhaul on a v12
that had been cooked and abandoned !
That picture was taken at dawn, in Canada, just before comming up
on the US border at Northway.
We has stayed overnight at Burwash Landing, which is just a fuel
stop and motel near Kluane Lake. It was cold and I didn;t have an
engine heater so had thrown a quilt over the hood and about 4 AM a
wind came up and blew the cover off!
But it was a 40 degree wind! So I woke my wife up and we piled all
our stuff into the car and blaster off after a few prayers as we
twisted the key !
That day we got all the way to Anchorage through a heavy snowstorm
in Mentasta Pass…and a speeding ticket(first in 30 years!) for
doing 70 when the speed limit had changed to 55 at the border.

The car went beautifully the whole 6,00 miles home and despite
playing a few tricks on me since…like collapsing the gas tanks
which we fixed by ‘‘re-inflating’’ them in place…has conyinued that
way even though the last tune-up was in Victoria,Canada by Frank at
the beginning of the trip, two years ago now!.
Thanks again!
