[xj] Disassembling front wheel hub. How?

If the Ser I hub is the same or similar to a Ser III hub…and I strongly
imagine it is…you have a very good seal puller at your disposal :-).
The hub with brake rotor attached is 20 pound slide hammer

Reinstall the big nut onto the spindle. Now, slide the hub back onto the
spindle…this is possible because, at this point, the outer wheel bearing
isn’t in the hub. Allow the hub to droop slightly so that, if slid outward,
the inner wheel bearing will catch on the spindle nut. Try sliding the hub
outward a couple times to get the feel of it.

Now…here we go…slide the hub fully inboard and then pull it outward
with force. When the inner wheel bearing catches on the nut you’ll find
yourself with the hub in your hands and the inner wheel bearing and grease
seal left behind on the spindle.

Or…

Drift the seal out using a hammer and drift. You’ll want to hit the inner
wheel bearing on the innermost part, which is strong, not the outer
circumference…which isn’t. A few good whacks against the bearing should
push the seal out. Of course the hub will need to be in a vise or otherwise
elevated a bit so that the seal has a place to go!

I have removed the wheels hubs from the car but I can’t
disassemble them. I have looked online and here for advice
but most people seem to have trouble with pressing the races
in/out, I can’t even get that far :frowning: I can’t even remove
the oil seal.
