[xj] Headlight Fuse Panel

The fuse box on the left wing (LHD) has five fuse cradles.
#2, #3, #4, and #5 are for the headlights. What is cradle
#1 for?–

Bruce,

According to the information on page 44 of one of my XJ6 Series IIII

Maintenance Handbook, Fuse #1 in the Headlamp Fuse Box is for the “Radiator
Cooling Fan (where fitted)”. It is a 8/15A fuse, Unipart Number GFS415.

Regards,

Paul M. Novak

Thanks for the prompt replies - I located it in my copy of
the S57 but would have never thought to look at the cooling
system for a fuse in the headlight fuse box!–

Where else would it be ? That’s nothing illogical, Bruce.
Jaguar’s don’t have illogical things. They
have ‘‘interesting design features’’

Let’s be grateful that it isn’t one of those hidden fuses,
secreted away in some nook or cranny in a dastardly manner

Cheers

Yep, according to my wiring diagram, #1 is for a radiator
fan. Hmmm… Good place to put it. Why didn’t I think of
that?–

I’ve not delved into that area for a while. but, I ave a
vague recollection that the fuse ID’s are in the owner’s
manual.

And, that one of the clips in that box is for a spare!!

My Jaguar travails continue.
