[xj] I am ILL

Ok, I’m stupid or sick… but…

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2433878344

I bought my XJ6 sight unseen and it was exactly as
described, excellent running good looking mostly
rebuilt car for $3200 from a trusted ebay seller.

This car… I don’t know what I was thinking. The
XJ6’s fan clutch failed, my XJ12C is up on jackstands
right now awaiting the correct power steering hose…
I shoudl have saved my money for my rent deposit or
pay off credit car debt (yes, I’m one of THOSE
people).

As you can tell, serious buyers remorse. I “guess” I
could always tell the seller to screw, but I’m just
not like that. I will go look at it sunday night and
report back whether this was the mistake of my life or
not.

Basically, if anyone else wants it… let me know.

Hi:

I’m kinda lost. It is the XJ6 or XJ12C that has made you wanna
regurgitate?

Don’t get too ill John. The car looks better than most I’ve seen on eBay
for a “parts car”. In fact, if it’s half of what the seller says, it’s
probably a restorable car alright. Actually I was looking at that but
decided I’d need a blood transfusion if I purchased it as my SO would
significantly bleed me close to death! Really the thought that brought
me back to reality was the distance from my area and the shipping cost
involved. Good luck and make sure you dig out all the info you can on
reviving the sleeping V12 prior to hitting the ignition key.

John,

Nothing wrong with that purchase! The description the seller gives looks
genuine, and once all the dust is off and a coat of wax on she’ll look
lovely.

Think of it this way: if you don’t want to bring it back to life, you’ll
have an excellent parts bin for the coupe. Spending 900 Dollars on parts for
a V12 is easy!

Maybe Alex will volunteer to come with a jar of yellow and a paintbrush to
coat the under-bonnet parts with surface rust:-)

Good luck!

Hey, just send me a prepaid ticket! I’ve got a new spray can of schoolbus
yellow ready and the V12 has lots of things that could use it. :]–

I’ll be alerting Sea-Tac Security, just incase he gets on the wrong
airplane, not to let him loose around here with that spray can!
