Mine must have been slowly and gradually failing to send proper
pulses to the speedo and TC for quite some time - my mileage has
markedly improved since replacing the transducer yesterday
The old one took a dramatic turn for the worse this week - once it
got hot, it was failing to register anything above 30MPH on the
speedometer.
Totally amazing how rock steady the needle on the speedo is now
I think they are easily trashed - if you disturb them. (Just R&Râd
the tranny recently - which I am certain contributed to its sudden
demise but again, I do think it has been weak for many years as my
mileage has been down a bit, unexplicably for about 3 years).â

You probably picked up about 20 horsepower, too. If your odo was off, surely
the speedo was as well.
So, you are suddenly going faster with the same throttle.
You stumbled into a win-win-win situation, Ted. Good on ya ! (is it OK if a
Yank says that?)

No, Doug. You would just start confusing people. Please stick to using
Americanisms that include words like âBuddyâ , âhome runâ and such like.
Even an occasional comment on the nicety of fabric upholstery?
Darn. I SO wanted to be thought of as being âworldlyâ.
Thanks, BuddyâŚ
