Hello Chaps,
I just did a routine check of valve clearances on my 84 XJ6. Supposed to
be between .012 and .014 thous. One (only one) of the intake valve
clearances
measured .007, the rest were OK. I’m not too keen on doing the cam-shim
thing for just this one valve. Do you think it will hurt it to run it as
is, .007 clearance ??? My thoughts are to run it like this, check it
again after maybe 5,000 miles and if it has closed any more, then re-shim
it. Your expert advice sought and welcome.
