[xj] Jaguar v The Rest

I was behind a late model Mercedes sports today and the recent thread on
Lexux v Jaguar came to mind.
The MB was probably a mechanical engineering masterpiece and would drive
and do everything as correctly as the Lexus. But what came to mind was
that the car was not instantly recognisable by most of the general
public as being a Mercedes. A Jaguar is always recognizable.
When a new Mercedes or BMW is released, here in Oz at least, it is not
of any great signifigance, the media do not herald the new model in any
great way.
But when a new Jaguar is released it is a different story altogether.
The media love to do a story on a new Jaguar and will show them on prime
time TV, the same cannot be said of the others.
Some may say I am saying this from a biased point of view, well they
would be right, but it is just my impression.

I hope this will still be true after a few years of X models entering the
market.
