I was hoping that someone could help me find the original details
on my 1987 Vanden Plas. I really like the car and would love to
get my hands on the original manufacturing and delivery information.
I would be very grateful if I could find information such as the
manufacturing location and more details regarding the day that it
was built, moreover, the window sticker information etc…

Absolute technologies (Gregory) -can you please sign your name to each
posting so we know who you are?):
Your car was manufactured in Coventry, England; all XJ saloons were made
there. 1987 was the last year for the Series III xj6 (although with V12
engines this body was produced to the end of 1992).
The sticker on the A pillar of your car gives the manufacture date. You
can obtain more information from the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust by
providing them with ownership proof and the serial number, body number,
engine, and transmission numbers. They will be able to tell you the
shipment date and where it went first.
If you give us the VIN stamped on the engine bay cowl (the black plate
nearest the windscreen), we can tell you a bit more. If you have not
already read Jagcare III< please access it at the bottom of the main J-L
webpage under “Our XJ books”.
