By the way, in automatics, I’ve always put it in neutral when approaching a
stop, and left it there until starting up again. I feel it reduces stopping
wear on the brakes, extends brake-light life and saves gas while idling. Any
comments on doing this with the Jag?

When I got the car back from the 2nd shop I noticed a “shaky” idle at
approx. 700 RPM. Sometimes I have to switch to neutral when waiting at a
traffic light because it’s quite annoying, then the RPM goes up a
little and the shaking is less but still there.
