Are the splines on Jaguar wire wheels the same as other
British cars? In other words, will a set of Jaguar wire
wheels fit on the hubs of my MG? Also what’s a good price on
a set of wires?–

In reply to a message from F. Bevelacque sent Tue 13 Jan 2009:

They are standard Rudge/Whitworth splines. However, there
are different sizes, defined as the nominal diameter in mm
of the bearing that will fit inside the hub, but not
corresponding exactly to any measurement on the external hub
or internal wheel splines. Jaguar uses 52, which is
relatively large. Most sports cars (MG, etc) use 42. There
is also 32, plus several other less common diameters.

So at 52, Jaguar wires are quite unique and not
interchangeable with those on other cars.–
