Greg,

Liar, liar pants on fire!!

I thought I’d harass you on this one. I called this
morning and while the adjustable vents are in the
price book, they are no longer available.

stock on the shelf as well.

All three of my Jaguar Series III parts catalogs

for the adjustable “demister vents” (Jaguar’s
nomenclature in the catalogs).
The BD46163 does seems to be the fixed vent. All of
the pics (surely from an
older illustration) show the adjustable type.

Perhaps Greg Wells or Steve Gibson can see if they
are still available.

Ben,

I guess I have to say my face is red. You are correct and I was wrong. In
our computer, if we punch in a superseded part number, it brings up the
latest number’s inventory record. We do have two of the fixed vents in stock
and the two adjustable vent p/n’s brought that record up and I simply didn’t
notice that the part number had changed.

So I was half (or a third) correct. We do have stock in the fixed vents!

Best regards,

Gregory Wells

Tsk, tsk, Greg! Imagine posting erroneous information on the list!
That’s my job! 8>)

Ben, give Paul Phillips a shout - paulsjag@aol.com Tel: (954)
846-7976 Fax: (954) 846-9450. I think Paul can pretty much find any
Jaguar part that can be found - not to say that Greg and CW can’t -
but it would be worth a try.

If that fails, I found at least two places in the UK that claim they
have the adjustable vents in stock, and at a price that would make it
worthwhile having them shipped if you can’t find them here - but my
bet is that Paul Phillips will find them for you. If not get back to
me…

Greg,

You didn’t need to post that to the list. That’s why
I sent you my smart-ass reply off-line. I do
appreciate your willingness to admit mistakes, even
though I know they’re rare!) but your knowledge,
honesty and willingness to help are why I buy 99% of
my parts from you/Coventry West.

It doesn’t hurt that I can drive over to your shop and
harass you either:-)

I did order the adjustable vents from Paul’s Jaguar.
They have them in stock and at a very reasonable
price.

With that being said, I’ll be over today to pick up my
my weekly parts order (trans filter & gasket, center
vent repair kit, o-rings and transmission vent
thingy).

Thanks!
