I’ve got a very bad gas smell in my 1984 XJ6 - I had a mechanic take a look
at it,
and he says there’s a leak in the left gas tank. Any idea on where I can get a
good price on this? He estimated it would take about 5 hours of work to
replace,
so the price is getting up there !
There are a couple of options. The company I work for offers tanks that have
undergone a process called RENU where the tank is cleaned & coated with a
resin so it will never rust from the inside again. Since I work there I will
not post the name of the company (free advertising & all that) but you can
e-mail me to get it. The other option is to try to find someone in your area
that provides this service.

Dear Phil
Your reticence is highly commendable. But this is a “critical” item of
considerable interest. You may at least mention the price for the common
good…?

Frank,
It’s against list policy to post prices…
This keeps everyone on a level playing field. I have access to the RENU
process and have a vendor in my area that I use for customers’ cars. It
would hardly be fair to get into a price war on the lists.
There will always be vendors that can use their superior buying power to do
loss leaders which sort of defeats the purpose of being able to find
consistently good vendors who stay with the market on a regular basis.
