Well my long awaited installation of a 4.09 ratio diff to
compliment the T700 trans went sour. I had bought a used diff
(hard to find - a UK 2.8 liter unit) which showed no abnormal wear
patterns on the ring and pinion. In exchange for some parts, a
person I thought experienced changed the bearings only, and I
installed it. It whined from the first minute.
I want to have it done right this time but sending it from Canada
to Coventry West and back, with shipping, duty, exchange etc will
kill me. Is there a knowledgeable business in Ontario I can have
rebuild it? Tranny shops don’t give me much confidence, at least so
far.
The performance improvement was nice. I had hoped to brag about
how quick it is now - and it is - but no glory today.
Anyone with a helpful suggestion please respond. I feel this is
specialized work and don’t want to do it.
Thanks, and good luck with your Jaguars
