IMHO you should have both the AIR system and the cats, or neither. I have
not found most of these basic emissions systems to be detrimental to
horsepower in any significant way, so why not keep everything in good
working order and try to keep the emissions down. My two cents.

Hi Gang,
I agree with Jeb. As a general rule cat converters—in good condition—are
not so terribly restrictive as so many want to believe. A.I.R. pumps
couldn’t pull more than a couple of horsepower and on the Jags they are only
operational for a few minutes each day.
