You are treading on egg shells here, just because some don’t like the shape
is no reason to call the car a mistake. Have a good look at the current XJ8
mechanics/body structure compared to the XJ40.
I don’t think it was a mistake, however like all models it did have teething
problems.

The XJ40 solved many of the problems on the XJ6 and sold about 208,000 in
8> years as compared to the XJ6 selling 402,000 in 21 years. In the 4
