[xj] RE: Horror story (plan)

@Nowlin_Charles

Hi Mark,

Again a rating system such as the auctions have
for their sellers would be am alternative

10 good replies
2 neutral
1 bad.....

Yes, I know… it isn’t fool proof,
and it is alot of work.
But what isn’t these days??

This way the Vendor name could remain on the list,
and the vendor would be rated by the customer satisfaction level,
eliminating any forseeable problem.

Although the idea of replies being off list is also a good one…

Charlie,
There’s a problem. What if a good shop turns bad? They’re on the list. If we
remove them is Jag-Lovers liable? I would think so, in the same way they
would be liable if they had a bad guys list.
I think the best thing is to ask the list, and request that replies be off
list.

Charlie, et al,

I still vote for off-list conversations but the idea of a rating system is
good so that the balancing effect of several opinions can be readily seen.

In fairness to all concerned, we should use caution here. It would be
shameful if a good outfit was unreasonably or inadvertently slam-dunked
because of one lister’s negative experience. There IS such as thing as
isolated problems and sour-grapes type attitudes. I myself am a service
provider— every now and then a job hits rock bottom but I would hope that
the public takes the other 98% of the well-done jobs into consideration.

I’ll try today to post a list of outfits that I have been particularly
pleased with.

From a liability standpoint I agree. The DPM that put me in a precarious
situation was a guy I used for 4 years. He was OK during those years. Not
anymore!
