[xj] re-psychoschematic thump thump

Forgot to mention another possible cause which also happenned to my car.

i have an aftermarket SS exhaust which doesn’t clear through the rear
suspension as good as the original. When the springs in the back started to
wear,
if there was a passenger in the back seat, the uni-joints on the wishbones
would
starting touching the exhaust at varying times, depending on road/cornering
etc.

Since you said that passengers were in your car each time, this could be
the cause…
take a look under the car and look for ‘shiny’ parts on the exhaust and uni
joints…I doubt that a bad
uni joint would be the problem if it’s only happened 3 times in so many
miles…a bad uni
joint should be constantly reminding you that it was on the way out…
