Grief - I had no idea how few of the XJ12C’s were made. Wonder how may
are actually left now?
Craig
The actual figure of XJ12C’s produced was 1,855
1974 11
1975 821
1976 663
1977 329
1978 31-----------------
Total 1855
The chassis numbers used for the XJ12C model were:
2G 1001 onwards for RHD
2G 5001 onwards for LHD
The figure of 1,855 is the most widely recognised true figure.
It appears in three of my production lists. The other figure
which is quoted is 1,872. The above production figures
totalling 1,855 were provided by Ian Luckett and Richard
Chillingsworth of Jaguar Cars Ltd in the book
’ Jaguar - a living legend ’ by Anders Ditlev Clausager.
No idea on how many survive, but I can tell you Craig that
only 97 XJ12C’s were shipped new to Jaguar Australia.
Then there would be grey imports.
Maybe ’ Mr XJC ’ Phil Evans, might have an idea on how
many are currently still registered in Australia ?
Kind Regards
Tony Williams 1985 XJ6 - still looking for another XJC
