Is there any way a hub can be refurbed, ie the ‘‘lands’’ where
the bearings are seated to be built up and resized/polished to
original specs? Or should I just bite the bullet and buy
some new ones. I was checking the free play after
installing new bearings and while prying the hub carrier
upwards the inner bearing came loose! Not good, sure to
spin on the shaft if I use it as is.–

I think new ones would be a lot,I also think welding a and haveing
them cut down would be as much as new, have you tried a local pick a
part ? might be the best way to go.–

Thanks to all who replied. I found a machine shop that will do
the job for $90 per side, dropped them off today. We will see
what kind of job they do… with a name like ‘‘Precision Welding
and Machine’’ what could possibly go wrong? (He said with all
appendages crossed :–
