[xj] rear windscreen electrical connections S-1`

All:

I’m not sure this got posted.

The electrical connection on one side of the rear windscreen heater came off
at the solder joints .

Has anyone resoldered this back into place? This is the large copper tab
that the wire connects to.

Are there any non heated solder connections?

Regards
Lou

Eek! I’ve seen this happen before, and wasn’t sure what would work for this. I considered a couple of options:

  1. Solder paste may allow you get things back together, but even that may cause too much localized heat on the glass, which could ruin your day.

  2. Conductive adhesives. 3M makes several types of conductive adhesive tapes, and there are other products out there that can do the same. Of course, these aren’t the sorts of things you’re going to find at the local AutoZone. But I think this is probably the best way to go.===================================================
