[xj] Repair Manual Maintenance

All:

In preparation for engine disassembly, I’m copying my Autobook shop manual,
which will be my main “plan”. I like the format and the hints it has.

I was looking at my Official manual and noticed it’s beginning to get worn
and has a big oil stain on the front section.

And it occurred to me that 20 or 30 years from now, I may regret no having
taken better care of my manuals. So I’m copying and placing them in a three
ring binder.

Just a thought.

Lou

Another good reason to get the JDHT CD-ROMs. Print off the pages you need
for a particular job, or the whole thing, and reprint them as they get worn.===================================================

Lou - Most local print shops will have a drill to punch the holes
for you at a very nominal cost. To keep the holes from tearing out,
it is helpful to have the holes drilled slightly larger.–

Rick,

You might look at sending any important information through the
internet in two or three emails. More difficult to intercept that way!

Replace the missing numbers with a **** and subject the email
with “part 1 of 3” and so on. (555 **** 1212 ****)

I hate to send a credit card number as well but have used the
above method before and no problems to date.

Hi Rick.

Take a look here:
http://www.jag-lovers.org/jagcds.php3

Your local Jaguar dealer should have them, or be able to get them. Most of
the parts vendors should be able to supply them as well. Be educated about
the pricing, as I’ve seen some pretty exorbitant prices out there.

Also note that there is CD number RTC9897CB that is less useful SIII disc
which the dealer may have. So check the part numbers.

If you have problems gettting it from a U.S. source, then contact the JDHT
using the information given in the link above. Note that if you don’t want
to send your CC info via e-mail, that you can call, fax, or write with it.===================================================

Hey Rick we are no less honest than you! if you trust the internet
at all it doesn’t seem to matter if you cross international
boundaries as long as they use a secure server. I have bought stuff
all over including USA Canada, Australia Hong Kong so far without
any problems. PayPal is also fine.–

Rick,
Call Julie at the number listed for heritage
certificates, you can give here your cardno over the phone.
I combined the cd with getting a certificate but as she
told me she handles both departments anyway.

Yes Keith, so have I but Paypal and all of the other sites that I buy from
have Secure connections to input your card info. The only thing you can do
for the cd’s is to send an email with your info.
