[xj] replacing GM alternator/ warning light panel

PS
There actually is reference to working on the warning light cluster.
It’s in the Series Three Service Manual (big green book) Page 88-4

The bulbs do pull out but i had to use a set of rubber coated spark
plug lead pliers.
Bulbs were available at our local NAPA store (No
affiliation…satisfied customer) and from Coventry West( NAYY)…but
I was in a hurry !
New ones push right in…no need to remove white plastic holder,
after removing black plastic with ‘windows’ cover.
If it is damaged and needs removal, remove four screws and pull tach
for access to wire connectors which will allow removal of cluster
complete.
The cover just pulls away and is a press fit back in.

So it is indeed, Bill - but only to the extent of removing the light
cluster unit…

The could at least have included, somewhere, the simple informations
that the bulbs pull straight out - we are grateful for your persistence
and informations in this matter! That we should have assumed that Jaguar
by this omission assumed than anyone would assume this, is not to our
credit…
