Yes Book 4 of the service manual covers the procedure.

The part number for the manual is AKM 9063

If you are in the UK there is an article this month in the
JEC magazine from someone doing the very same job -
without a ramp!

The article is in the XJ-S forum section of the Jaguar Enthusiasts
Club monthly magazine - presumably the same magazine is sent to JEC
members in the UK & the USA.

The chap who does the job gets his car high enough on axle stands
or ramps & then uses a hydraulic motorbike lift to lower the
gearbox down prior to replacing the clutch. He then uses the same
hydraulic motorbike lift to get the gearbox back into place.

Regards

Andy.–
