[xj-s] A spring question

Hi all-

I;m not a memeber of the list, but have a question
perhjaps one of you can help with. I’m still pulling
apart this 90 XJS coupe, and it has a set of orange
(completely orange, not just paint marks) front
springs. Never seen that before. The springs have a
part number on thme- SPCX-1073. Are these Sports Pack
pieces, or???. I believe the rears may have been
orange once too, but the paint on them is gone…

Anyone recognize the number?

In reply to a message from Andrew sent Sun 8 Aug 2004:

My guess would be that they are almost certainly aftermarket
components, i.e. not Jaguar original parts. They may have
been made by SPAX (rather than SPCX).

SPAX make adjustable dampers and probably springs too.

I tried their adjustable dampers and hated them.
