I am thinking of adding a pair of hold open struts to my 88.
Can anyone post photos of there factory connection points and
measurements from later model years.
I have adjusted and twisted my torsion bars but the lid still has a
tendency to drop on its own.–

Hi Vans,
It sounds like one of the two boot hinge units, the spring/lift
portion, has failed, and needs repair or replacement (which would be
easier than adding struts 
Have you determined which one is not providing lift? Can you mark the
hinge to lid position and remove the lid to test/compare the two hinges?
